Summer:
Dylan loves his garden filled with marvellous flowers, fruit and veg, that his wife Ann makes delicious pies with and more. It’s the hottest day of the year and Ann brings in some lemonade to cool Dylan off after gardening for hours. With the shovel thrown to the floor, he makes his way to the porch, collapsing on the bench. They both relax taking their hard work in, chatting about how it’s supposed to be warm all week. An hour passes and both get back to work and to shovelling potatoes for their tea. Once picked they hungrily head inside.

Autumn:

It’s been a successful year for both of them relating to their garden. With the days getting darker, there is less time to garden which is fine, with Dylan having to take countless breaks due to his age. Ann is cooking her stew filled with the last remaining veg before the winter kicks in while Dylan relaxes watching the latest nonsensical gameshow they have put on. The smell lingers in the air as Ann begins plating up, shouting ready then helps Dylan up from the sunk-in sofa to the dinner table. He compliments the dish before chatting about their day.

Winter:

Snowflakes falling & the air is chilly, Ann and Dylan chill by the fire watching their TV. Dylan has been getting worse but old age…it does not come easy. With the cost of heating, they resorted to wearing multiple layers to keep warm and stay healthy. The smell of some warm vegetable soup slowly makes its way to the living room as both of them inhale it. Dylan gives Ann the hungry stare which she immediately knows and heads to make two large bowls of soup. Instead of getting Dylan up, she brings the soup over and they enjoy it.

Spring:

The birds are singing as the sun slowly peeks its head from the rain-clouds. Ann is on her own as she stares at the garden disheartened by how the year has started. The garden is a mess over the winter but a single Cyclamen plant left giving off colour in a what is dim garden. Ann stares up the the sky admiring the warmth that comes over her before taking a deep break and sighs then heads inside however her daughter suddenly appears stopping her and pointing at the sky. A rainbow forms and a smile gleams off Ann’s face.
